Our specialized training events are held throughout the year for Able Shepherd Certified members to participate.  These events provide advanced on-location training and tactics.

Community Gatherings

We often host events that are open to the public!  These are a great way to meet new people, network with our community, and learn more about the program.

This month’s MIX event will be a family-friendly mingling with members of our community, and is also open to the general public!
Featuring special guest speaker Michael Bowen, this will be a great night to hang with our community.

The nation’s largest professional event for the sport shooting, hunting and outdoor industry comes to Las Vegas, January 17–20—the SHOT Show.
Able Shepherd will be there to help represent our brand and our mission, hope to see you on the floor!

2/11 - Training at Longmont Police Range

SESSION 1: Armed Tactical Defense

Course Description: In this course students will be presented with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform and understand the 3 handgun safety rules, drawing from a holster, and engaging targets at various distances.  Additionally, students will be presented with the skills to engage with targets transitioning from unarmed to armed.  In this course students will engage with live adversaries in reality based scenarios making split second decisions in order to defend themselves and those around them.

Who: Responsible citizens, beginner to advanced, who are looking for a realistic application of shooting skills. Max: 10 Students

What: 4 sessions, each with Live-fire and Reality Based Training Simulations, designed to be taken individually or progressively to complement the next session.

When: Saturday, February 11th from 1pm to 6pm (5 hrs)

Where: Longmont Police Department and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Range and Training Center,

COST: $225 per person

2/25 - Special Event: Defend the Flock

One of our most popular and important special training events is back for 2023.

Defend the Flock is focused around armed church security validation scenarios, using Simunition products in an action-packed environment.  If there were an active shooter situation in your church, do you have the capability to effectively neutralize the shooter, render aid, and be prepared for Police arrival?

4/29: Breaching Event

A brand new cirriculum for 2023: Breaching.
What if that door is locked?  This course will teach multiple methods for entry including using manual breaching tools and shotgun.
